The organisations winning right now don't have better HR. They have sharper problem solvers. Today you strengthened that problem solving muscle.
<aside> 👋 Welcome to the beginnings of your problem solving toolkit from The Future Kind!
We are experts in facilitation, culture, operations, strategy and leadership for scaling organisations.
We know that People leaders are already great thinkers. What they're missing is a shared language, a repeatable method, and the confidence to walk into any room and make the case for the problems they are trying to solve.
This toolkit gives you the DVF framework, the tools to test your ideas before you build them, and a canvas to use on your next real brief.
Use it. Duplicate it. Bring it to your team.

The best People leaders don't just have great ideas. They know which ones are worth building, which ones will get funded, and which ones their team can actually deliver.
That's not instinct. That's a skill. And it starts with asking three questions before you do anything else.
| DVF | What is means |
|---|---|
| ❤️ Desirable | Does anyone actually want this? |
| 💰 Viable | Will the business back it and will it deliver value ? |
| 🔧 Feasible | Can we actually build it? |
If your idea can't pass all three, it's not ready. Great problem solvers know this before they walk into the room.

Your problem-solving tool. Use it before you write a brief, pitch an idea, or spend a single hour of your team's time.
Here’s your DVF Design Canvas to capture all your thinking in one place ⬇️

Start with the human. Always.
Talk to the people who have the problem before you fill this in. Your answers are only as good as the conversations you've had. If you haven't spoken to a single user yet, that's your first action, not this canvas.
| What to ask | Your answer |
|---|---|
| Who has this problem — and do they agree it's a problem? | |
| What does solving it mean for them, in their words? | |
| What would make them use this vs quietly ignore it? | |
| What would make them trust it? |
Solve the right problem for the business, not just for people.
Don't fill this in alone. Bring your CFO or finance partner into the conversation before you go further. If you can't answer the ROI question yet, that's not a blocker, it's your first assumption to test.
| What to ask | Your answer |
|---|---|
| What business outcome does solving this drive? | |
| What does it cost — including the costs nobody puts in the proposal? | |
| What would make the CFO say no before it gets to pilot? | |
| How do we prove it worked at 3, 6, and 12 months? |
